Where to Start

Finding the right session for your situation

The four sessions address different drains. Most people have more than one active drain, but starting with the most prominent one produces the clearest results.

Read the descriptions below and notice which one resonates most

You do not need to take a formal assessment. The descriptions below are specific enough that the right starting point usually becomes clear when you read them. If two seem equally relevant, the contact form at the bottom of this page can help you get a more specific recommendation.

Start with Meetings if...

  • You regularly have four or more meetings in a single day
  • You feel more depleted after meeting-heavy days than after days of solo work, even when the total hours are similar
  • You often leave meetings feeling unclear about what was decided or what you need to do next
  • You find it difficult to return to focused work after a meeting ends
  • Your calendar has little or no buffer time between scheduled calls
Session 01: The Meeting Load

Start with Context Switching if...

  • You rarely spend more than 20-30 minutes on a single task before being interrupted or switching voluntarily
  • You have multiple communication channels open simultaneously throughout the day
  • You often feel like you worked all day but cannot point to a specific thing you completed
  • You notice your concentration deteriorating significantly after lunch even on days with few meetings
Session 02: Context Switching

Start with Emotional Labor if...

  • You regularly manage other people's emotions, concerns, or frustrations as part of your job
  • You notice feeling emotionally flat or numb by mid-afternoon even when nothing particularly difficult happened
  • Certain recurring interactions leave you disproportionately drained relative to their duration
  • You work in a customer-facing, management, or high-collaboration role where professional composure is consistently required
Session 03: Emotional Labor

Start with Environment if...

  • You feel significantly more productive in some physical locations than others
  • You work in a noisy or visually busy environment and have not made deliberate adjustments to manage that
  • You experience physical fatigue, eye strain, or headaches regularly during the workday
  • Your workspace has changed recently and your energy levels changed with it
Session 04: Physical Environment

Not sure which one fits?

If you read all four descriptions and none stands out clearly as the dominant drain, or if two seem equally significant, that information is itself useful. It suggests either that multiple drains are operating at similar intensity, or that the primary drain is not yet visible from the outside.

In either case, the one-on-one Energy Audit session is a more appropriate starting point than any single webinar. It is designed specifically for situations where the picture is not yet clear.

A note on starting with all four

Some people prefer to attend all four webinars in sequence. That is a reasonable approach, particularly for people who are not sure where to start or who want a comprehensive view of energy management before making changes. The sessions are designed to stand alone but also to build on each other when taken in order.

If you are attending all four, the recommended sequence is: Meetings, then Context Switching, then Emotional Labor, then Environment. This order moves from the most externally structured drains to the more internally experienced ones, which tends to make each session's content easier to apply.
